2006 Regatta Food Rules:
The regatta season is here and everyone is busy doing their part to get the crew team ready for another great year on the water. Each family will be asked to provide food to every regatta.
Food provided will allow all rowers to have breakfast, lunch, fruits & snacks throughout the day.
As a rule , novice rowers compete early in the day and eat early in the day. Varsity rowers compete late in the day and eat late in the day. In the past this has been a problem because those rowers who eat early tend to eat throughout the day out of boredom, and therefore the other rowers who row late in the day end up with little food or no food at all. So lets ALL be considerate of each other!
You will not be able to eat any food until everything is completed with the boats and coach gives the OK .
Here are some guidelines for rowers & their families that are new to GBCC.
All food items must be dropped off the morning of the regatta when the rower get on the buses and there will be a check off list to ensure that all rowers bring their food assigned to them.
All items must be in disposable containers or Ziploc bags ( serving utensils are not needed). If you are going to attend the regatta and can be responsible for your own container you may send it in a non-disposable dish. However, if you leave the regatta without your dish, consider it donated.
All items labeled "lite" or "diet" need to be exactly that. We have many rowers who need to eat healthy while maintaining lightweight status.
If you are unable to attend the regatta or cannot provide your assignment, it is up to you to call another crew family and arrange a switch or drop off your assignment to that family.
Rower are not to help themselves to any coolers unless it is your very own. Families have had their entire days food taken or drinks missing.
Once again we I have add additional food items to the menu so rowers parents and siblings who are at the regatta may eat as well, but please - do so after the rowers.
Thank you in advance for your support

Pasta Dinner Assignments
Hello GBCC families! It's almost that time of year and I (Pasta Mom Coordinator) am starting to get organized for the upcoming Pasta Dinners. The dates I have from Coach Stambaugh for the Friday night dinners are Mar 24, Mar 31, Apr 21, Apr 28, and May 5* . (*May 5 could end up being cancelled).
Current Schedule:
| DATE | HOST |
|---|---|
| March 24th | Mulholland |
| March 31st | McTiernan |
| April 21st | Perry |
| April 28th | Hulse |
| May 5th | Jucks |
The responsibility of the host family is:
- cook approximately 6lbs. of pasta & sauce
- provide paper products/plastic wear
- provide serving dishes (salad bowl(s), fruit tray/bowl(s))
There is probably room to co-host these dinners... meaning, if one family wants half the points they can provide the house while a second family provide the pasta, sauce, paper & plastic wear & serving dishes. Just keep me posted so I can make sure everything is covered for the big day and points are going where they need to be!! Thanks so much and I will be in touch again soon!
